Mark your calendars! The Mousescrappers Speed Scrap Marathon is coming your way next weekend on January 27-29th. It's 3 full days of scrapping your heart out with 16 speed scraps. In return, you'll get lots of fabulous prizes. If you complete all the speed scraps, you'll receive a goodie bag that's jam packed with amazing prizes. You don't want to miss out!! 'Kiss The Girl' was inspired by our favorite under water princess, Ariel. It's a wonderful collection of 15 papers in lovely beachy colors and patterns. Creating a cover page for your photo book is a very important job because you're going to be looking at this page the most! It's finally here -- the day all the kiddos have been waiting for!! A day filled with costumes and candy. Halloween is such a fun holiday for all ages. Can you remember what you dressed up as for Halloween? It's also a day for snapping tons of photos of everyone trick or treating in their costumes.

Where do fairies come from? Have you ever seen one?

A story of the origin of fairies appears in a chapter about Peter Pan in J. M. Barrie's 1902 novel The Little White Bird, where he first introduced the character and mythology of Peter Pan. Barrie wrote, "When the first baby laughed for the first time, his laugh broke into a million pieces, and they all went skipping about. That was the beginning of fairies." Isn't that just a precious and wonderful thing to imagine? Don't we all need a little pixie dust every now and then to brighten our lives?

Tinker Bell is one of the more famous of the fairies. She's sassy and feisty and drop dead gorgeous in the strapless green leaf dress!! Today, Kelly is proud to honor her with a fabulous new kit called...

Have you ever been on a wild animal safari? Or maybe dreamed about one day taking a trip to Africa in search of lions and elephants? Maybe some day .... but for now we'll enjoy seeing these majestic creatures in the zoos and wildlife parks, which is just as exciting. Today, we celebrate those animal instincts as we Remember The Magic of....

EXPEDITION SAFARI

Expedition Safari is so wonderfully wild and full of animal goodies. Take a look at the lion, giraffe, rhinoceros, hippopotamus and elephant. Look further and you'll find a jeep, camera, bongos, tribal mask, and a mix of flowers, greenery, buttons, ribbons and 15 papers with some great animal skin prints. And lastly, a large cardboard alpha for crafting the perfect title.

There is nothing more precious than to hear your child's laughter. To watch your son run around and play ball with such a carefree spirit. To play dress up and drink pretend tea with your daughter. Every day, it's a new adventure for them filled with blissful happiness. But sadly, we also know that there are many children who are not so lucky that spend most of their days battling a life-threatening illness and visiting hospitals and treatment centers. One place that offers an escape from all that and offers a magical vacation full of bliss is called Give Kids The World, an organization in Florida that accommodates the wishes of terminally ill children with a fun filled and cost free resort for children and their families to visit. It's a place that brings joy and smiles instead of tears and frowns.

Give Kids The World Village is a 70-acre, nonprofit "storybook" resort located near Central Florida's most beloved attractions where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families are treated to week long, cost-free fantasy vacations. Their mission is to fulfill the wishes of children and to never turn a child away. Give Kids The World works very closely with organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation to fulfill these wishes. Make-A-Wish qualifies the families and provides transportation to the Orlando area, and Give Kids The World provides a week of accommodations, food and theme park tickets - all at no cost to the families.

It is almost entirely staffed by friendly, loving volunteers called "Angels" who greet everyone with a warm smile. The facilities around the resort were designed with special needs in mind (e.g. a carousel that accommodates wheel chairs)... and pretty much all 'typical' household rules are thrown out the window. If a child wants ice cream for breakfast, they can have it! Anything to help them forget about doctor visits, hospitals, and needles - if only for a week. Give Kids the World relies on donations - so MouseScrappers is proud to be able to do our part to help. 100% of the revenue generated from the sale of this kit will be donated to Give Kids the World. Q. How did you get into Digital Scrapbooking?

I've always been a very artistic, creative person. My daughter married an American boy (long story but it's the best love story you'll ever hear) on such short notice in December 2009 that none of his family were able to get passports to attend, and only my husband, our son & myself were there for her side of the family. There were very few photos. I decided that the best Christmas gift for his family and our family would be a scrapbook of the pictures that we did have. I knew that I would never be able to make 12 traditional scrapbooks so I looked into making a photo book. I started in March 2010 with a free version of Digital Scrapbook Artist 2, found some tutorials online and taught myself the basics, and the book was ready to print in late September. I've since upgraded from DSA2 and now I mostly use PSE9 but I also have PSCS5 which I'm teaching myself to use. The photo book turned out very nice and everybody who has seen it loves it, although when I look at it now I cringe! My style has definitely changed and my skills have improved a lot in the year since then!

Q. What brought you to Kellybell Designs?

I had a lot of Disney photos to scrap and I stumbled onto the MouseScrappers website somehow. I started seeing some amazing LOs and took note of the designers being credited. Kelly was one designer whose kits I loved, and I developed a large collection of them pretty quickly. I remember feeling very jealous of the talented CT members she had because I thought they were so lucky to be able to play with her kits!
Q. What has been your best moment as a member of Kelly's Team?

Oh gosh, how can I choose?! I'm serious - I've only been here 6 months but there have been so many best moments! How about the day that I was invited to join Kelly's team as a Guest CT? It might have been how quickly I was welcomed to the team by everybody. Then there was the day that I was invited to stay with the team permanently. Maybe it was the day that I quit feeling shy and inadequate, and started feeling confident that I belonged here. Or how about the day that I realized that all of us girls are not just a team of strangers -- we're friends and we all truly care about each other. I think that the last one is the one I'll go with! I love this team! We have the best team, we each have our strengths that we bring to the scrapping part of the team; but most of all every one of the girls is awesome, and we've got each others' backs.

Q. In addition to being a member of the team .. tell us a little about you.
I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 26 years, but we've been together for 30 years. We have two wonderful "adults" now (can't call them kids anymore!) - our son is 23, and our daughter is 21 and married to a man I adore and consider to be my own son. I live in the middle of Canada, in Winnipeg, where we have to deal with short hot summers and long cold winters. I was in an accident 3 years ago that forced me to retire but I used to manage a small florist shop before that. I have always had an artistic streak in me, but until I discovered digi scrapping I didn't know how to let that artist out. I love to travel and have been to 6 Canadian provinces, 42 American states, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia. We love to road trip through the USA and we've just discovered that we also love to cruise. This fall we plan to combine our two loves by taking a 12000 km road trip and a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas. By the end of this year, we'll have visited 49 states, with only Alaska left to visit -- which we'll do next summer, and we'll have added the Bahamas to the list of countries we've visited. Oh and we're having a mid-life crisis... we just bought a Honda Goldwing motorcycle - can't wait for our first road trip on it!

Q. What is by far your favorite kit here at Kellybell Designs?

Boy you really like to ask the hard questions! That's kind of like asking which one of your kids is your favourite. I get really excited when I see Kelly introduce the princess-y kits, but I think I love her absolutely stunning Blooming in Adversity kit the most.

Q. What are your favorite layouts?

I think that these are probably my favorite LO's so far, both made with Blooming in Adversity. I love how drastically different that one kit can look:

How did you get into Digital Scrapbooking?

When my first son Matthew was born, I started into paper scrapping. I loved recording all the exciting memories of the first year of his life. But paper scrapping needs so many supplies and takes up a lot of space. I just happened to stumble into digital scrapping about 1.5 years ago. I was hooked! I couldn’t believe how amazing the digital layouts looked! I found Mousescrappers and started scrapping Disney trips first. I’m constantly amazed at the enormous amount of tutorials, freebies and helpful advice there is about digital scrapping. I scrap with PSE7.0 and feel I still have lots of learn.

What brought you to Kellybell Designs?

I’ve been a follower of Kelly for quite some time, way back when she was a designer at Creative DISigns at DISboards. I used several of her designs for t-shirts for our our Disney trips. When she started creating Disney scrapbook kits and quick pages, I was truly amazed at her new digital talents. Then she started a creative team and I knew I wanted to become a part of that team. That was back in June 2010 and I’ve loved every minute since! Not only is Kelly a talented designer, but she’s also a wonderfully warm and sweet person. I deeply respect her talents, but also treasure her friendship and guidance.

What has been your best moment as a member of Kelly's Team?

The best moment was getting to scrap my very first kit as a CT member for Kelly. I was super thrilled but totally nervous because I wanted to do a good job for her. I truly believe that Kelly’s team has a very unique group of gals. It’s rare to find a group of women that are so supportive and encouraging of each other. We learn from each other and laugh/cry about life’s daily highlights and struggles. I feel blessed to be part of such an amazing team!

In addition to being a member of the team .. tell us a little about you.

Our family lives in Austin, Texas and we certainly enjoy all the warm weather here. I’m a stay-at-home mom to 2 boys ages 6 and 8 who are the source of all my photos. I’m definitely a boys mom, playing baseball and football along with sword fighting and lightsaber battles. And I’m a huge fan of Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and Jack Sparrow. Honestly, I don’t have much of a choice there! We’ve got 2 big dogs in the house, a yellow lab and a saint bernard. I’ve had dogs all my life, the bigger the better for me. Digital scrapping is a great creative release for me. It’s a hobby that never gets boring. Probably the only other thing I do just for me is exercising. I’m pretty good at getting to the gym and running.

What is by far your favorite kit here at Kellybell Designs?

That’s just way too hard to answer!! I love Walk The Plank because it’s such a great kit for boys! Then I mix and match from Modern Magic and Expedition Safari over and over again. The papers and textures in those 2 kits are outstanding!

Will you share with us you 1st LO you made as a Kellybell CT member?

The first kit I used was ‘Fairest In The Land’. I loved the rich colors and deep textures in this kit. This was my first layout and the Stitch wordart title was the first ever freebie I made! While this kit was targeted at Snow White layouts, the colors also blended well with Stitch. So right from the start, I found Kelly’s kits to be very versatile.

More Simple Dates

Seven days in a week, 12 months in a year. They're all just a bunch of numbers. Except when something important happens on that day that you want to capture with photos and document with your journaling. Adding a date to a layout is sometimes overlooked or just quickly scribbled in the bottom corner. Dating a layout is a critical piece to telling your scrapping story. When you have a fun way to date your page, then adding a date becomes much easier to do!

Oooh! Aaah! Isn't that what we always say when we're watching fireworks? They're just so mesmorizing and colorful. Whether it's Fourth of July, New Year's Eve, the Super Bowl or Disney, fireworks are just plain cool!! And Disney certainly knows how to throw a great fireworks party. Wishes at Magic Kingdom has been delighting millions since it debuted to the public on October 9, 2003. With over 1,200 fireworks shooting off each night, that's a lotta Oohs and Aahs! Today, Kellybell Designs has a new kit that captures all those magical sparkles called...

Boom Pow!

'Boom Pow!' was inspired by the elaborate Disney firework shows. This kit has all the essentials for scrapping the perfect fireworks layout. First, there's 3 large fireworks bursts, lots of stars and swirls, and several coordinating flowers and ribbons. And I added 4 adorable square flairs, some cool sparkles and splats, and much more. There's 15 papers in a mix of turquoise, pink and black along with a few glittery papers for that extra sparkle. And lastly, a silver metallic full alpha.

To compliment this kit, I have a matching set of 6 word art sayings.

Q. How did you get into Digital Scrapbooking?

I started as a paper scrapper after my oldest daughter was born in 2002...I loved it, but realized how expensive the papers/kits/embellishments could get..plus, I could never keep up with printing the photos, etc. I decided to take a digital class with Jessica Sprague.com in 2007 (after meeting her at a convention for paper scrapping that year) and I was HOOKED! SO much easier to have immediate access to my digital photos and such amazing designs in the digi world. And I don't have to clean up a mess of paper, just close my laptop! I just love digi scrappin'!

Q. What brought you to Kellybell Designs?

After taking our little girls to Disney World for the first time last spring (2010) I was hunting for the perfect Disney scrapbook digi supplies to create a scrapbook. I found out about Kellybell, and just adored her designs! I bought a big stash,, and got started! Then, I was jumping up and down when I heard about her CT call last year, and I applied right away! When she announced I was part of her team, I was over the moon!

Q. What has been your best moment as a member of Kelly's Team?

Honestly, I feel like Kelly and my fellow CT members are like a little family -- it's one of the first places I check in on line each day, and also the last at night...the ladies are SO supportive of each other, in our everyday lives and in our scrappin'-giving us amazing feedback on our pages. I love them all! Plus, it is SO fun when you see that new link from Kelly with the latest kit...you know how you feel when you get a package in the mail that you've been waiting for?! It's even better!

Q. In addition to being a member of the team .. tell us a little about you.

I'm a wife to an amazing hubby, we celebrated 10 years of marriage last October! We are blessed with two little girls, age 8 and 4 (almost 5 in a month!) They are my inspiration for scrapbooking..as you probably see on my blog each week. We live in the same little town where I grew up...a great place to raise a family. I work full time as the head of public relations at a private college, which is really fun. I used to be a TV news producer before going into the PR world. My husband still works at the TV station where we met. Oh, and my husband says I'm obessed with finding a way to get back to Disney sooner rather than later!

Q. What is by far your favorite kit here at Kellybell Designs?

If you had all these wonderful Kellybell kits to choose from, could you decide? What a tough choice to make! Since I have two little girls, I love the princess kits, but I also remember LOVING the feeling of designing my page with the new "Hooray for Hollywood" kit that Kelly recently released! I wanted to use every embellishment I could!

I decided to create a brand new page with my Fantasmic pictures and freebie for you with it! ( I did use a purple paper and black and purple flowers from "Happy Haunting" from Kellybell!)

City of Tomorrow

Epcot first opened on October 1, 1982. Epcot, which stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, was Walt Disney's dream to create a utopian city of the future complete with housing, schools and businesses plus a monorail to move the people around. How cool would that be to live in a Disney city like that? Sadly, Walt Disney died before getting to see his dreams come true in Orlando. But each day, millions of people celebrate their own magic at Disney throughout the world. Today, Kellybell Designs has a new kit dedicated to Epcot and all the futuristic thrills it brings. It's called....
